Why ONE TO TEN

In January 2024, Docker acquired AtomicJar and I found myself facing a complex equation mixing 5 professional and personal variables.

Professionally, the B2B SaaS playbook was being rewritten by LLMs:

  1. The cost of AI-assisted software development is trending to zero, therefore established distribution and customer base are more valuable than ever. Could I buy it?
  2. AI outcomes are challenging to productize for end customers, making professional services not only viable but preferable. What SaaS products require consultants?
  3. My impact and satisfaction are derived from helping founders navigate 0-to-1 (product-market fit) and 1-to-10 (GTM engine). How can I do this full-time?

On a personal level, I was aiming to give back to Europe as a US-based operator:

  1. The Draghi report states that "1T€ companies are not rising in the EU economy". Could the dense fabric of 10k+ bootstrapped SMB software companies present an alternative?
  2. Hard journeys are only as rewarding as the quality of companions who travel by your side. Who else in Europe is converging on this hybrid VC / PE thesis?

Solving this equation took 2 years: I'm starting ONE TO TEN with Ines (ex-Hg, Thoma Bravo).

We're investing in founder-led, profitable B2B software businesses in Europe.
I join the management team to upgrade their GTM and delivery with an agentic platform.
